kiʔsuʔk kyukyit. Hi! For those of you who don't know me, my name is Josh Lockhart. I moved to Kimberley with my family eight years ago and we quickly fell in love with the community and decided to stay!

As a young man with a young family, I have a keen desire to see Kimberley grow and thrive.

I am passionate about this city. I am committed to this community. I am invested in Kimberley, with my children in school for many more years.

In my short time living here, I have learned about Kimberley's fascinating history. The community has grit! The present right now is great, the Platzl is alive, there are young families playing at Rotary Park, plus there is a strong business and arts community. The future for Kimberley is bright.

I know that my experience in the community, combined with my education and training and past leadership roles, that I can be a strong advocate for people of Kimberley to ensure the place we call home prospers.

Kimberley, BC is an apocalyptically good place to be!

As Emergency BC's tagline says: "If you're ready for zombies, you're ready for a disaster" and after reading The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks, I've come to realize that Kimberley is a good place to be, even if a zombie apocalypse should strike. Here's why! Zombies typically operate like water, taking the path of least resistance. According to Brooks mountains are the second most desirable place to live during a zombie apocalypse. He emphasizes the higher the elevation the better, so fortunately Kimberley is very well situated, being the highest city in Canada! Brooks also recommends cooler climates, so our modestly frigid winter temperatures could freeze those zombies in their tracks, or at least our abundance of snow would make things difficult for them to tread through. Working together as a community

I have always believed in working together instead of against each other. Hear are just a couple of examples: Summer 2012, summer camp program at College of the Rockies : “We are thrilled to be partnered with Centre 64, Kimberley Gymnastics, Kimberley Dance Academy and Kimberley Summer Theatre to offer these exciting summer camps,” commented Josh Lockhart, Kimberley Campus Program Assistant. “Collaborating with community groups gives us the opportunity to enhance the camp experience tremendously.” Starting the community registration days in 2012  (this ran until 2016 - something I would like to restart): College of the Rockies (COTR) Program Assistant Josh Lockhart says, “There has been a lot of enthusiasm for the event so far.
